Tips for Working From Home
During the lockdown, we have all had to work from home and that is not easy. But from someone who has been doing it for over a year now and actually loves it, I wanted to share some tips on how to stay productive while working from home:
1. Inbuilt Reward System
Next to each goal for the day, write down a reward. It would be as little as getting another cup of tea or if you finish all your tasks for the day, finish early and take some me-time. It might be a larger goal like closing a large deal with a client and treating yourself to a weekend trip away to relax. Add in rewards that will motivate you to complete your goals.
2. Plan Out Your Day
Those of us who plan out our day are generally happier. We can spend 45% of our day overthinking about too many things which lead to stress. Start your day with a list or a plan of all the things you want to get done that day. This will keep you on task and focused.
3. Track Your Sleeping and Eating Habits
We can set a detailed plan for the day but if we have no energy or brainpower to complete it, it's useless. Start tracking the time you go to bed and when you get up. Are you getting 8 hours of sleep a night? What are you eating? Are you snacking on junk food throughout the day or are you eating proper meals? These can affect your energy levels and will impact whether you can achieve your goals.
